Conolidine is a naturally occurring alkaloid that is found in the Tabernaemontana divaricata or Crepe Jasmine bush, but is Conolidine fully natural?
This question is fast becoming a foreground concern. With so many studies out heralding the potential pain relief of the Conolidine alkaloid, many call the claims into question and assume that this compound is unnatural or illegal.
Fortunately, it is neither of those things. Along with 66 additional alkaloids, Conolidine is entirely natural and only found in the Crepe Jasmine plant. Organic chemists synthesize Conolidine in order to perform tests and studies.
This is done to obtain the optimal amount in order to test. Companies will then test for effects and ensure the ingredient is free from flaws or foreign matter.

What About Conolidine?
This is a common practice in the science world. Additionally, concentrations of the Conolidine alkaloid are small in the Crepe Jasmine plant. One can only find this alkaloid in higher amounts within the bark and roots of the plant.
This can prove troublesome for those looking to use high concentrations of the Conolidine alkaloid. The bark on a bush has small mass when comparing it to the remainder of the plant.
Companies have been known to synthesize and standardize their ingredients much like they would a vitamin of any kind. This generally leads to safer, less flawed, and targeted dosing. However, the drawback to this is the process. It requires a significant amount of chemical alteration to isolate and concentrate the Conolidine alkaloid.
Some companies use the whole plant in highly extracted amounts to achieve a higher concentration of the Conolidine alkaloid, while some choose to synthesize the alkaloid. These methods are natural, but we can all agree that untampered material is the more natural route overall.
When all is said and done, it is clear that Conolidine is natural. Whether companies synthesize it or use raw powder material, you can rest easy. Finding natural Conolidine is only half of the battle. It is important to understand that not all companies create products alike. Sometimes, there is even significant risk with “all-natural” products.
If Conolidine is Natural, Why Worry?
This topic will require a more in-depth dive, but it’s a must to mention in this article. It is no secret that the Dietary Supplement community has their share of bad apples. We have done extensive research on this, and we implore you to be active in your treatment and what goes into your body. Some of these “all-natural” companies put up a false front and create subpar products.
Every now and then, you may hear a story about how the FDA shut down a company. What you don’t hear or see are the conditions of the companies that forced said ruling. We’ve heard of products being prepared in homes, sheds, garages, etc. Always make sure that you do your research!
